After the phone call to his parents Jared and Megan waited for Josh to come over to the apartment. The oldest of the three siblings insists on Megan and Jared coming with him back the family home, but Jared had refuses to be again driven away from his home. Even though he feels tense looking out of the window, scanning the sidewalk and the street for any sign of the wolf. he refuses to let it get to him more than it should.

So Jared stays and Megan determined more than ever that he needs her stays too. In the end all their older brother can do is accept it and stay for the night as well. What somewhat cheers the mood is the fact this is the first time in years that the three of them spend an evening together, just hanging out. They can almost fool themselves into thinking that all of it is just for fun.

After the sighting of the wolf from the woods Jared takes to keeping a close eye on his surroundings. There are a couple of times where he feels a tickling feeling on his neck, as if someone is watching him, but when he turns around to look there's no-one there. It makes him rather paranoid. When he starts to tense every time he passes a dark alley, he decides that enough is enough. He heads out to the fitness center he hasn't been to for quite some time now, and works his frustration out on a punching bag.

From then on he works on losing all the nervousness and depression that sneak up on him from time to time. Working out is once more added to his schedule and combined with the running every evening he starts to feel like a human being again. All the exercise does wonders for his mental state as well.

This morning he woke up for the first time with a good mood, no nightmare torturing him throughout the night. His good mood is boosted further when he walks into his favorite coffee shop and finds no queue waiting to be served. With a happy smile he stride up to the counter. Nothing can get him down today. There's a strange guy standing behind he counter. Jared knows all the baristas by name, but he's never seen this one.

"Good morning. How can I help you?" There's an uncertainty in the way the new guy talks. As if he's not sure about what to say. It sounds a little like little kids when they are learning to talk.

Jared decides to be encouraging to have the guy relax a little bit. Smiling even wider he places his order: "One tall espresso and one blueberry muffin."

There's a short flash going over the other's face but it's to quick for Jared to be able to make out what it is. The barista turns away from him and heads for he espresso machine. It's fun to watch him handle the machinery since he's clearly not at home yet. The first scoop of freshly grinded beans gets spilled all over counter as he tries to lock the portafilter into place. The second one makes it and then after perusing the buttons and dials, the guy opens a drawer and takes out a piece of paper which seems to have instructions on them. Finally the right settings have been made and dark coffee starts dripping into the cup.

"Blueberry muffin?" Jared just nods and tries his best to be more subtle about the way he watches the newbie look through the food display until he finds what he's looking for.

The espresso is ready the same time the muffin has been put into a paper bag and then they are both set on the counter in front of Jared. As the guy searches for the right items on the cash register, Jared's eyes flick to the name tag on the front of the shirt.

"Um, $4.50, please." When the guy looks up from the register, Jared is met with pale green eyes.

He hands a five dollar bill. "Keep the change." With a last smile at the barista he turns around. "See you, Jensen."
