Author’s Note: This storyline stems from my wish to write some kind of horror/thriller plot. Listening to Two Steps From Hell’s Horror and Thriller albums didn’t help any.

In the evening Jared drives to his parents. The newly purchased rifle lieing on the backseat, he feels calm and determined to take charge and no longer be the victim of creeps of any species. There's light on in what seems to be every room in the house and at least four cars are parked at the curb. Jared parks a little further down the road, grabs his rifle and heads back to the house. He wonders what is going on that has such a commotion going on. Just as he walks up to the front door it is pulled open and Megan comes running out.
"Ugh! I hate grownups!" Her hair is flying in whatever which way and her eyes glitter so hard that it can even be seen in the semidark outside.
"What's the matter?" Jared knows that his little sister can be overly dramatic from time to time, especially if he doesn't like something and is forced to do it anyway.
"They won't allow Susan and me to go running together on the first change. Like we are unable to take care of ourselves." She heavily plops down on the front lawn and sulks even harder. The angry look on Megan's face together with her disheveled hair has Jared grin. If there's one thing certain, than it's his love for his family. At work with his difficult boss or with his friends and their quirks he doesn't even have half of the patience he has with Megan or his parents. But he can't laugh at her right now because she's been there for him during his time of need after the attack in the woods and the stalker crisis.
"You know what, I'll talk to them." He sits down next to her. "How about the two of you run with me, just to get the adults off your back and I promise to do my best and let you run without bothering you."
"Thanks Jared." And just like that the sulk is over. "Nice rifle by the way."
